Paul said, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Cor 4:17,18)
I look at Jesus’ life and try to comprehend what He went through on the cross. He walked through disgrace and reproach. Considering all the pain and suffering He went through and the many accusations – yet none of this made sense to the world. If you think of Calvary, it was not a glorious place in the physical or spiritual. It was a place of great evil and a place where criminals were executed. It was a place that witnessed great battles in the spirit. But the fruit of what happened there on the cross brought light and life in our lives.
On the Cross He exposed sin, as He Himself was stripped naked and exposed.
This is what is happening to us when we walk through these times of darkness on earth. Each one of us is tested and that which is in our hearts – our true condition – is exposed. Either fear and anger are found, or trust in Jesus Christ.
Every time that we are broken, crushed and realize our dependency on God – more of His light begins to manifest through us. We as the church say that we are light, but no light can manifest through darkness or fear.
This is a time for the Church of Christ to bow their knees before the King of the Universe. True humbleness, spiritual warfare and trusting in Jesus Christ and not in the flesh, is what destroy the works of the enemy.
When three Hebrew boys were thrown into the fire, it did not make any sense at all!
How would they be able to destroy the works of the enemy if they were in the fire?
Was God not supposed to snatch them out of the fire? But God! He was still in their midst! They could just not see him because of the intensity of the fire.
This is the message to the Church today, “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not have any truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin”. (1 John 1:1-5)
I believe that God is busy breaking down our structures of selfishness, self-protection, self-reliance and fear. He is exposing the darkness in our own hearts. He is busy with a great shaking on the earth. This is exactly what we read in the book of Revelation – a message to the Laodicean church.
As the enemy rushes to complete his works of darkness, God starts shaking all things. This is for His Glory and His times. Everything will be exposed; the truth will be established – for the victory is God’s.
Those who trust God will not even smell like fire. Our battles and spiritual warfare are on a deeper level than it has ever been before. Don’t be caught off-guard or unarmed, you have to focus on spiritual matters. Every foundation that we are anchored on that is not God Himself, will be shaken.
And this is good news for God’s children!
Throughout the Bible, you see how God came through for His people. And this time it will not be any different. He will come through again!
Taste and see that God is good.
I bless you my dear friend, in the midst of my own trials. I know that God uses it all for His glory. So much of myself is dying in this process, as I fight the battles in my life. My prayer is just, “Lord, let more of Your light come through.
And if there is darkness in me – expose my heart so that I can deal with it, now.”

Every day we see how God’s miracle resurrection power flows through her. And to me, the greatest miracle is what He is doing with my own heart in the process of serving her.
