It is about a deepening love relationship

23 January 2013

We had an office meeting at the beginning of the year where everyone could voice their concerns regarding things they picked up on in the Ministry over the past year.  It is always good to be accountable, so I have to be accountable to them too! ”Retah, we know you are often out of office, but the people want to speak to you and you are never here to take their calls”. “Yes you are right; I cannot take all their calls every day. We have people in the office that do deliverance and counselling.”  “Yes, Retah but some people want you to pray with them, so what about having a chat box day once a month?  They can phone and speak to you about the questions they have.”

I prayed about it, and decided that I would give it a try. But – But – But, “Please Holy Spirit please, I need you to answer each and every one, because I don’t have the answers.”  So off we went, and all that I can say is Holy Spirit is so faithful.  From all over the world the calls came and I stayed on my carpet on my knees and just prayed for them all. And Holy Spirit started to minister as we prayed together. I could be honest with them about what He said. People really listened and self-righteousness made room for tears of repentance. Tinus came into the room where I was on my knees busy praying for someone.  He turned around and just left me a note – “I am going to Josh’s swimming gala – you have to stay and do this for the body of Christ – Josh will experience and eat the blessing of your obedience. Love you. Tinus”.

Here with the phone next to me - I hear the same cry all over the world: “I want more of Him – I want more of the King, I want to hear His voice!” – That is revival! This makes me so excited because you are not called to only be a scholar – to just know Him intellectually - but you are called to develop an ever deepening love relationship with Him. I could hear people’s anger because YHVH doesn’t give them what they ask. They want the blessing but don’t understand that what they ask is all out of self-righteousness, or that it may not be God’s time yet. It is not about what you have or don’t have, about your suffering or not suffering – it is all about Him. And in Him is perfect peace!

Remember always, that within your DNA He has designed an insatiable hunger for communion with Him. It is a hunger to know Him more intimately - as your Abba Father – One who loves you and cares for you, and the One who wants to reveal Himself, His will, His ways to you progressively - all in His time. The more time we spend with Him the better we get to know Him. And here, He chooses the timing, the nature, the substance of all the interactions that lead to a deeper relationship and revelations off Yeshua. Holy Spirit is in us and we need to get to the place where we don’t give a step without Him. A place, where you know, that your thoughts are as loud as your words to Yeshua.

How and where Retah? – start by facing the condition of your heart.  Oh my, when I speak about this I so badly want to tell you the truth of my life. I thought I was so OK, till one day that Aldo wrote to me: ”Mom, You are my gate keeper, but you sit with this…... this….. ,this…..in your heart! How can you not see what you are doing to me and yourself! How can your heart be so hard that you don’t recognize the condition of your heart?”  That day I realized that we are not even open to ourselves about what is in our hearts, we are so full of pride and self-righteousness.  It was a shock to know that Aldo knew about the real condition of my heart. As I prayed and opened up my heart to YHVH, I said “Lord, It is so hard for me to know that my child knows all about my heart!” He answered, “Yes, I can see that your fear of man is more than your fear of God”. I was knocked out – numb- because I knew - that you serve the one, you fear. That day was a turning point in my life.  I will never ever forget it.  But, how I thank YHVH everyday that I could repent of the condition of my heart and start afresh, washed by the Blood of Yeshua.

Why is it that we are so concerned that people know about what is going on in our hearts, but we don’t care that YHVH sees it all?! Prov 15:3 The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping His eye on both the evil and the good.

So much is said about revival, but you have to understand that revival – true revival, will never come unless there is a spirit of repentance in the lives of those who seek Him - a truthful and heartfelt cry for Him to test your heart! Holy Spirit will never anoint the works of the flesh or glorify man – but He does move wherever there is a true spirit of repentance in the heart of man. One of the tragedies is that there are so many people today that claim that they are Christians but, they still cannot discern the difference between the flesh life– the self-centred, self-indulgent life and a life in Holy Spirit.  Where this is the case there will never be aheart of repentance. Revival is obedience in Christ, Yeshua.

You know how repentance changed me? It broke my hardened heart it made space for love instead of judgement, forgiveness instead of unforgiveness. The question is – are you willing to walk by Holy Spirit’s direction? To be a child of the most High God asks of us to walk and live by the Spirit! We can only know the things of YHVH by the Spirit of YHVH. 1Co2:2 for I resolved to know nothing (to be acquainted with nothing, to make a display of the knowledge of nothing, and to be conscious of nothing) among you except Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and Him crucified.

John 16:7-15  However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. 8 And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment: 9 About sin, because they do not believe in Me [trust in, rely on, and adhere to Me]; 10  About righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God), because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no longer; 11  About judgment, because the ruler (evil genius, prince) of this world [Satan] is judged and condemned and sentence already is passed upon him. 12  I have still many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them or to take them upon you or to grasp them now. 13  But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes; He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. 14  He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you. 15 Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.

If we are not walking in and with Holy Spirit, then no matter how religious or ‘spiritual’ we may think we are – there will be no need for repentance in our hearts. Sometimes we just need to hear what the Spirit says about the condition of our hearts and that will help us to change our direction.  YHVH will not be able to flow through us when we are not walking in Holy Spirit. Revival comes in your life when you yield to His Spirit and where God’s people are found walking in Holy Spirit – there you find true repentance. We don’t need a new program to lead us into revival.  No, revival by the power of Holy Spirit, are sent down from YHVH. We will experience this revival as we truly allow Him to search our hearts, leading us to repent for our arrogance, hardened and loveless hearts - then Holy Spirit will take control over our lives and lead us step by step.

2 Cron 7:14  If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. – if we will – He will!

So Josh is back from the gala, giving the good report about his swimming – without mom there, but always with Holy Spirit present. I just so love the way God walks with all of us. Step by step, none of us are different or better than the other. It is just a life in the Spirit or in the flesh.

It is a journey my friend, a mountain to climb – but the best one I have ever been on, because I am NEVER alone!

I bless you in Yeshua’s wonderful name.
