We are standing in the door of a new year, and the mails that I receive from all over the world are heart-breaking. So many marriages that are broken and the effect are seen in the children. Broken fathers break their children, and same with mothers. To hover over evil thoughts are not the answer, in fact that is the key to open up the demonic kingdom over you and your family. Unforgiveness is a breeding recipe for greater trouble, more discontent and many a time ending up in divorce.
We need to learn to talk about our hurts and pain, and equally important is to listen to the others point of view. To open up your heart and allow someone else to see all your weaknesses makes one very vulnerable. But I do believe in transparency. The enemy cannot come near the light, he loves darkness and he uses dark thoughts, and that become a dark attitude and end up in a dark deed or word. Those words are out of the enemy’s camp, and are fiery darts that kill, steal and destroy. He doesn’t need a Satanist to harm our children. He can use broken parents to break their children with their tongues that are set on fire out of hell. James 3:6
Sometimes I can see that people forget the fact that when you married that person, you became “one flesh”. So if you want to harm her, or him, you are simply hurting yourself. You are counter attacking yourself.
“But Retah, I am so angry. What should I do because………” You should only do what YHVH says we should do in such situations – forgive one another!
“It was not my fault, and he or she never takes responsibility, it is always me, so how can I forgive again?!” Through a humble heart, and on your knees you can ask Holy Spirit’s guidance, and you can forgive all the “wrongs”, just because you understand that by choosing to forgive, you open up Kingdom over you and your family.
I look at Yeshua’s life and I learn a great, great lesson. Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” That is so true, because many times we do not know what we do, because we act out of pain or dark evil in our seed.
I was confronted the other day with a situation where my flesh was really angry and I thought that I had all the right to be angry and not forgive. But later that morning as I went running in the mountain, I said, Abba, I choose to forgive that person, and Yeshua, you taught us to forgive those who hurt us. “For, if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.” I made a choice to just forgive and asked Yeshua to please help me and remove all the memories out of my mind and my heart. When I got home Aldo said to me, “thank you for opening up Kingdom over us by forgiving, if you kept on pondering and did not forgive, you would have opened hell over us.” I was amazed! And all the memories just fade and my heart was kept pure.
“But Retah, this is not the first time.”
Math 18:21-22 “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times? Yeshua said to him “I do not say to you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”
Do we not realise what life is all about? It is not about your spouse and what they do right or wrong. It is about a loving God that uses everything in our lives as a test to test us, to train us and to mould us. As we die in self, we trade all of “our self” on the trading floor so that more of Yeshua can enter in, and we can become a vessel of honour to the Master’s use.
We need to regularly ask YHVH in prayer to give us a “spirit of forgiveness”. I see that some people enjoy carrying hurts and grudges around. That negative emotions will kill you my friend, if not now, later! And the sad thing is that we transfer those hate in our DNA to our children, and their children. They get the good, the bad and the ugly from you. Your anger towards another person normally does not hurt them, but it hurts you.
Ask Abba to help you to change your old patterns of thinking, and not to be so self-sensitive and “hurt” so easily. It makes me happy to know that “He is the Father of mercies” 2 Corinthians 1:3
I love how Peter taught us 1 Peter 3:8 “Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another, love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous, not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to do this, that you may inherit a blessing.”
“For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good, let him seek peace and pursue it.”
I teach my children every day, “let’s seek peace and pursue it”. Because the enemy seek anger and he pursue it.
We cannot be joyful if we carry hurts around in us. It takes a choice to forgive on a daily basis and know that it is a test about the condition of our hearts. So make sure you pass the test! The more we die and the more Yeshua becomes visible in us, the more amazing marriage we will have.
“My child, how can I save your marriage if there is divorce in your mind? For as long as there is divorce in your thoughts, there shall be anger and hate in your heart. It is the same with healing, how can I heal your body, if there is sickness in your thoughts? You have to trust me, that when you surrender your marriage into My hands, that I will do the work in your heart. You just need to trust and then obey My voice. You are so weak, come unto me! Math 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I want your mind in rest, and you can only have that rest in faith. Worry is a tool from hell to destroy. Anxiety produces tension, as fear and anger are poison that kills any relationship. My child you are the master of your own house. You have to invite Me into everything, even into your mind. Remember, whatever you do in your secret thought life, you and your whole family shall reap. Make a choice today to sow love, kindness and forgiveness so that you can reap the same. Sow hope, sow faith, sow joy, sow words of life because that is what you will eat. I love you, and no situation is too difficult for Me – because I AM! Just trust and obey My voice.
This is how – eyes on the throne, and knees on the ground”.
We are doing so well here in Stellenbosch. The truth is “we just LOVE LOVE LOVE every moment”. Yes, it is challenging with the dust every day in the house and many builders around us. At night we try to clean up as much as we can. But tomorrow they start again and everything is full of dust again. But even in all of this, we are so very happy and content by knowing that we need to be here right now.
Josh said to me last night, ”building is a process mom, even in the spirit there are dust when you break the old down and rebuild the new.” But after every day, Abba gives us time to clean up before tomorrow starts again. Yes, it is a process, and the dust and rubbish are part of the process. But every day we can see the progress. And we are getting excited, even though there is still dust. We have to understand it works exactly the same in the spirit, but we all want the old out and the new in, “all in one second”. Believe me, as we broke down this old house, and rebuilt it – I learned so much about patience, about a process, and about being content. Because I know, that I know, that I know, that it is going to be amazing when it is finished. That is what faith is – absolute confidence in YHVH’s promise and who He is.
The word that YHVH gave me before we came to Stellenbosch was, “I want the wells of John G Lake and Andrew Murray to be opened up again in Cape Town, South Africa. The church took the fire out many years ago, but now is the time that I will rekindle that fire. I need the wells to be opened up! This fire will go out of Africa to the whole world. I will go before you.”
I am very excited to be part of YHVH’s plan. Nothing that we can do out of our own ways or means. He made it very clear to me. ”Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord God Almighty.”

Don’t be discouraged with what you face, thank God that you face it and have a chance to change it, all through His blood.
Remember that the truth shall set you free – but you first have to face the truth about yourself.
